Location

Camp Centennial in Centennial Park (Out-trip to Centennial Landing)

Overnight Out Trip

This trip is a great example of how having fun, being challenged, learning, and growing all work together so well. The counsellors are well aware that for many this is a new experience. As such, they’re constantly working with the campers to build confidence with the idea of the trip.

Campers are bused back-and-forth on a school bus. Meals are planned together as a group. We ask that you please not send added snacks, nor meals, because that takes away from the opportunity they have here at Camp!

Asking yourself if it’s normal to be a little nervous?
So normal! Your camper might be nervous, you as a parent might be nervous, that’s so normal! New experiences are intimidating. We KNOW that! We’re here to help. We have no doubt your Camper can have a great experience and that there might be some nerves to overcome first – that’s a part of the adventure! We encourage you to chat with them about it and feel free to reach out to us if you want to talk!

What to bring

Lunch, snacks, water bottle, sunscreen, bathing suit, and towel should be brought every day. We ask that Campers do not bring any electronics to Camp. This includes for the out trip! If you’re wondering how you might be able to get a hold of your Camper click here.

Sneak Peak

We are excited to say that we are once again offering our “Landing” program! Our out-trip site at Camp has affectionately become known as “The Land.” As such, we thought “Landing” was an appropriate name for this group who will delve deep into the experience of learning, experiencing, and growing by having a whole lot of fun outdoors in an incredible place guided and surrounded by wonderful people and a positive attitude! The program will focus on having a tonne of fun while exploring and learning the hard-skills of outdoorsmanship.

This group will spend the entirety of their 5 days out at “The Land”. We are excited to say that the accommodations for Landing this year will be in Yurt style canvas tents that are erected on decked platforms. The campers will have access to all of the facilities we have out there, including our Lodge-Style building (we call it by its civic address, 11 Owen’s Way), 350 acres of wooded area, 1.2km of river frontage, lakes, canoes, and all the fresh air you could ask for.

They will arrive Monday morning at Camp Centennial in Moncton and be bused out and won’t be returning until Friday afternoon for pickup at 4:15pm at Camp Centennial.

This program is run by staff who are have their first aid training, national canoe certification, as well as extensive Camp Centennial leadership training.

Meals, accommodations, and equipment are all provided by for the session. Each Camper will be asked to bring their own personal equipment and clothing.
