Experience the EXTRAORDINARY!

On HomeHill! HomeHill is the space that is designated as quiet, private, and respectful 24/7. Each Camper has a single bed and is assigned to either an Aabin (A-frame cabins for our youngest Campers) or a Yent (our Canvas tents that are up high-and-dry on wooden platforms). They will have a couple Yent-mates but time on HomeHill is expected to be quiet at all times. When someone needs some down-time, this is where they can go for it. We have other spaces for eating, other spaces for being active and other spaces for being silly/loud; HomeHill is for the comfort of home-away-from-home.

The simple answer: good food! Food is a priority for us at Camp, from the nutrition side (Camp is busy and fun, we believe in being well-nourished to make sure we have the capacity to make the most of our moments) all the way to the experience. Meal-times at Landings focus on good food, meaningful connections, and deliberate experiences. We do that by going back to the basics. Food is cooked on-site, served warm, and people sit and eat together (family-style). We also know that dietary needs are different for different Campers. The registration process is extensive and we collect all of that info so that we are able to make the food we are serving your Camper is the food that will nourish them well!

Each day is setup to facilitate the things we feel are meaningful for someone to experience. From wake up, to breakfast being served, then morning thought, all the way to evening Campfire, each activity is based in an understanding both of the incredible capacity Campers have as well as what it takes for them to foster and learn about those capacities they don't even realize they have.

Most days include a mix of choice-based and camp-wide activities. Choice-based activities are sessions that Campers get to to pick from 2 or 3 options and attend the ones that they feel would be of greatest interest to them. Some of these are directed learning activities (where fun is combined with hard-skill learning like fire building, outdoor cooking, canoe skills etc) and others are based purely in the immediate adventure/excitement (swimming in the lagoon, wide-games, etc).

The exception to this schedule is challenge day! A tradition that brings a tonne of excitement with it. Thursday is our challenge day and it starts with being sorted into teams and the day is spent getting the opportunity to show your spirited, capable, and hilarious self! Challenges range from trivia-based, to swims and group canoeing, all the way to poetry competitions and outdoor cooking! You never know what the challenges might include but the day always wraps up with the end-of-day banquet!

Pickup and drop-off are done at Camp Centennial in Moncton. Drop off is Monday morning between 8:00am and 8:20am. Pickup is on Friday. Parents are invited to join us for Campfire (4:00pm) and pick up is done after that.

For those looking to attend from outside of Moncton and would appreciate alternate arrangements, please feel free to reach out!

The cost of Camp includes meals, accommodations, transportation to/from the Land, programs for the week, and all the equipment needed. Campers are asked only to bring their personal supplies such as clothing, sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries etc. Everything else is included! Full packing list can be found here.

Camp is about learning! The most significant learning experiences often carry elements of discomfort. Camp is no different. We don't offer these experiences despite the discomforts that can arise, we do it because we know that by accepting those discomforts and understanding that they can exist at the same time as the fun and adventure of meaningful experiences, we inherently build capacity and resilience in people.
