Registration for Pre Camp Camp
Thursday, May 14, 2020

Hello Camp Family!

We are beyond excited to say that Pre-Camp-Camp registration opens at 12:00pm on Friday May 15th with our first day of Camp being May 25th 2020!!!! The following information is in regards to Pre-Camp-Camp.

Our regular Summer Camp 2020 programming has not been changed. We will be in touch closer to the summer with those details.

We are so thankful and proud for our Camp family who has helped us prepare for what these next few weeks will look like. There are a few things you need to know.

  1. We have done an exhaustive review of our program and made changes to ensure that the likelihood of transmitting disease is mitigated.
  2. We have made these changes with the realization that the intent of our program should not change. We are committed to offering those crucially important connections and experiences for young people to learn and develop and have a great deal of fun while we’re at it!

What is different?

  • Cabin groups. Like always, our Campers will be sorted into cabins. These cabins will now be no more than 15 Campers with 2 Counsellors. Within this group they are not required to socially distance. Between groups, we will require socially distancing and will be limiting contact between groups.
  • The Camp area will be Campers only! Sorry parents, we know how much you love to come hang out and see (hear) Oh Canada, but in the hopes of keeping you and your Campers safe, the Camp grounds will be only for Campers and staff.
  • Drop off and pickup will be structured so that parents don’t leave their cars! As you drive into the Camp driveway you will see that we will now be utilizing a much larger drop off loop (between us and the new pool facility). Just pull on in, follow the signs, and wait for a counsellor to come up. We will have some questions for you each morning then we will welcome your Camper out of the car to start the Camp day! The same process in reverse will happen for pickup.
  • If you need to come to Camp during the day for any reason, we ask that you please pull into the parking lot and call the office. Someone would be happy to come out and chat if you need to see us in person!
  • We have a number of other policies and procedures involving cleaning and equipment utilization in place to ensure safe operations as well as screening and communication protocols for our staff and Camp families. All of that can be found in our operational document that has been reviewed by the City of Moncton’s Emergency Command Committee and will be made available to Health NB at their request. We have even posted it here for those of you interested in the nitty gritty!
  • We are relying, and have full faith, on our Camp families being an active and supportive part of ensuring this program runs safely and socially respectful. Please do not hesitate, at any time, to reach out. If you have questions, advice, or simply would like to gain a deeper understanding as to why we are doing what we're doing, we would be happy to hear from you!

All of that to say, we expect to be able to create the same action-packed, outdoor, and active, experience that we always strive for. The vast majority of the changes impact the logistics felt by the staff and parents. This is a responsibility we are happy to bear in the hopes of Campers getting to be themselves again!

We hope to see you soon!

All the best,
